During the investigation of Salazar Sr.'s report of his child's kidnapping it was determined that he lied to investigators, providing information implicating individuals not involved in his child's disappearance. Other details provided by Salazar Sr., yet unreleased, have proven to be untrue. Salazar Sr.'s record includes felony charges of 2nd degree robbery and 1st degree property damage along with various other misdemeanors. As of now the child has not been located. An extensive search is still underway with efforts concentrated east of Carthage on Spring River near County Road 90 and Ivory. The child's mother, Yadira Aguilar, is currently cooperating with investigators. Police are no longer searching for the two masked men described in the original Amber Alert. Eddie Salazar Sr., the father of missing eight-month-old, Eddie Alegandro Salazar Jr., has been arrested by the Carthage Police Department for filing a false police report.
