One of two men accused of raping and killing a Stella, Mo., girl was granted a change of venue Wednesday.
Chris Collings, 33, was granted a change of venue during court proceedings Wednesday in Barry County. His case will now be heard in Phelps County because of publicity in the case.
Collings is charged with first-degree murder, forcible rape and statutory rape in the November death of 9-year-old Rowan Ford.
Collings and David Spears, 25, are accused of kidnapping Rowan from her home in early November, then raping and killing her. Ford’s body was discovered in a shallow sinkhole near Powell in eastern McDonald County after authorities had searched for her for several days.
Spears, Ford’s stepfather, was granted a change of venue in July. His case will be heard in Pulanski County.
