The Carthage Spikers 12-year-old volleyball team, competing in the 13-year-old division, took first place in the Springfield Stars Spring Explosion tournament held at James River Assembly on March 12.
The Spikers “dominated” the courts against 13-year-old competition, winning the championship game against the host Springfield Stars.
The Spikers are scheduled to compete in the Spike It Rich: Fools Gold Tournament Saturday, April 2, in Branson.
The Spikers complete the season April 9-10 in Kansas City, Mo., at the Silver Regional Championships. Team members are: Savannah Downing, Maddy Burt, Zoe Renfro, Navy Thompson, Marley Hensley, Brooke Guidie, Rylee Parrish and Kiley Tiller. The team is coached by Chally Downing.
