This year’s Carthage High School Football Four Person Scramble was a success despite the weather’s attempt to delay activities.

It has been six years since the benefit golf tournament was created for the Carthage High School football program, and every year the event has received a great response from the community.
This year’s event was no different.

The tournament, which began with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Saturday at Carthage Golf Course, included a putting contest and a football toss. The money raised will be used to support the CHS football program.

“I originally established this while coach (Doug) Buckmaster was the Carthage coach,” said Mark Peterson, PGA Professional at Carthage Golf Course. “Coach (Jon) Guidie wanted us to continue the event and has been very helpful in coordinating players and staff to be part of the event.”

Tiger football players and coaches were on hand for the duration of the event to assist golfers and participate in several contests.
