Carthage, led by a complete team effort, totaled 1079 points to capture team honors. Seymour finished second with 723 points, Lebanon finished in third with 410 points, while Springfield finished fourth with 87 points.

“We were thrilled to have them all here,” CatTracks swim coach Lymann Burr said, adding a mixture of new and experienced swimmers received medals and totaled points for Carthage, not to mention improving personal records. “The weather had been so crazy were glad that everyone was able to arrive safely and have a fun afternoon of swimming.”

The meet had approximately 100 swimmers with each swimmer having the opportunity to swim in three individual and three team relay events.

Carthage flourished in the 25 different relay events: boys and girls 200 freestyle, mixed 100 freestyle and boys or girls 100 medley. Each Carthage team member was able to bring in points by placing in these events.

“I was very proud of Trystan Castillo, Payton Williams and Katie Mansfield for receiving gold-place finishes in all three of their individual events, as well as supporting their relay teams to first place finishes,” said Lyman Burr. “We were also thrilled that so many of our new and experienced swimmers were able to receive medals and more importantly, that everyone got a chance to improve their times.”

Of the 53 individual events, Carthage won 29 events and took home second place honors in 13 events.
Addison Burr, Castillo, Payton Williams, Addison Hobson, Katie Mansfield and Katie Watson captured first in freestyle events. In the breaststroke, Max Williams, Castillo, Olivia Janssen, Cerenity Hawkins and Shelby Hatcher captured first place.

First-place finishers in the 100 individual medley included Hobson, Carrie Wallace, Katie Mansfield, Payton Williams, Castillo and Jeffrey Dawald. Dawald, Avery Brewer, Katee Hobson, Lauren Dawald, Sonora Stearns, Jonathan Ensor and Brett Rockers took first in the backstroke.
