9th annual Red, White and Boom Run set to begin 4th festivities
The ninth annual Red, White and Boom Run, sponsored by the Carthage High School cross country team, is set to begin at 7 a.m., Friday, July 4, at Municipal Park.
Participants can either choose the 5K run or the fun walk.
Dustin Miller, a CHS graduate, is the defending men’s champion in the 5K, and Courtney Wood, a Neosho native, is the defending women’s champion.
Registration will begin at 6 a.m. in front of Carl Lewton Stadium.
Cost of entry for either race is $12 for all entries submitted by June 30 and $15 after June 30.
There will be seven age divisions for both men and women. The divisions include: 14-and-under, 15-18 year old, 19-29 year old, 30-39 year old, 40-49 year old, 50-59 year old and 60-and-over.
Awards will be given to the individual male/ female winner and for the top three finishers in all age groups.
The Red, White and Boom Run is one of many activities that coincide with the Fourth of July celebration.
