Southern finishes with a three day total of 917
The Missouri Southern golf team shot a final round 305 and finished in fourth place at the 2008 NCAA Division II Central Regional held at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio.
Southern finished with a three day total of 917, ten strokes behind third place Missouri Western. Washburn won the regional with a three day 884, while Central Missouri rebounded from a first round 316 to shoot 290 and 291 in day's two and three to finish second. Southwest Baptist was fifth followed by Winona State, Upper Iowa and Fort Hays State.
Sophomore Adam Nelson (Parsons, Kan.) shot his second-straight 76 and tied with Seve Smith (Webb City, Mo.) for the team's top score as the pair shot a 230 and finished tied for 20th. David Eddy (Carl Junction, Mo.) finished tied for 27th with a 233, while Ben Perry (Kansas City, Mo.) shot a final round 77 to finish tied for 32nd at 235. Freshman Jamie Voegeli rebounded from his DQ a day prior to shoot 76 on day three.
Missouri Western's Aaron Lisenbee won the Central Region Individual Medalist Honors with a three day, even par 216, but fell just short of earning the automatic bid to nationals as Wayne State's Joe Juszczyk shot a three under 213 to take the outright title between the two regions.
Indianapolis won the Great Lakes Region with an 885, while Grand Valley State finished second with an 887 and will also head to nationals in Houston.
