Rodney Grace and Spencer Magana combined for 38 points to spark Pittsburg State University to a 78-67 win over pesky Southwestern College.
The Gorillas (4-1) found themselves trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half of the game against the NAIA member Moundbuilders in the first game of the annual Chris Tucker Memorial Classic at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Marcus Batiste scored 14 of his team-leading 16 points for Southwestern in the game’s first six minutes as the Moundbuilders opened quick out of the gates.
