Carthage football fans, pull out your calendars, the schedule is set for the 2010-2011 seasons.

The 2010 schedule, released Friday when the Missouri State High School Activities Association released the new class and district assignments, shows the Tigers face five successive Class 5 Central Ozark Conference opponents to begin the season.

The Tigers, whose new district includes Webb City, Carl Junction and McDonald County, open the 2010 season on the road against league rival Branson on Friday, Aug. 27.

The 2010 home opener is scheduled for Sept. 3 against Ozark at K.E, Baker Stadium. The two-week homestand continues against Willard (Sept. 10) before the Tigers make a stop in Nixa the following week.

Neosho returns to K.E. Baker Stadium for the first time since 2008 on Sept. 24.

Carthage was able to avoid an open date on its calendar in Week 6 after Andy Youngworth, Carthage High School activities director, announced Monday the Tigers will  play Imagine College Prep Charter Academy, which is located in the St. Louis metro area.

Youngworth, who posted the opening on the MSHSAA Web site, said Carthage is scheduled to play Imagine College Prep Charter Academy on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Carthage remains on the road the following week (Oct. 8) when the Tigers head back to Republic for the second straight year.

The district schedule shows the Tigers opening against Webb City on Oct. 15 at home, followed by a road game against Carl Junction. Carthage closes the regular season at home against McDonald County.

The Tigers face Carl Junction High School on Oct. 22, followed by the regular-season finale on Thursday, Oct. 28 against the Mustangs.

The new schedule shows the Tigers won’t play Seneca and Nevada, which dropped down to Class 3 for the next two seasons.
