Missouri Southern opens camp today

The Missouri Southern football team will open up fall practice for the 2009 football season at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to attend practice to get an early look at the 2009 Lions.

Southern was recently picked to finish seventh in the MIAA preseason coaches and media poll and return eight starters on offense and nine on defense.

The Lions open up the 2009 season with a road game at Harding University in Searcy, Ark., at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29. The home opener for Southern will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 19, against Emporia State in Hughes Stadium.
