The Carthage High School women’s soccer team dropped a pair of games in the Greenwood Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers, now 1-5 this season, dropped the opener, which began at 10 a.m., 5-0 against Greenwood.
The Lady Tigers finished strong, though, losing a hard-fought match against Springfield Central, 2-1.
“Both of the teams we played featured the same talent level,” said coach Chris Rogers. “We put together a good run toward the end of the second game against Central.”
Jamileth Henriquez scored the Lady Tigers’ lone goal of the day with 10 minutes left in regulation against Central.
The four-team tournament was won by Greenwood, which beat St. James in the final.
