Eagles, Lady Eagles qualify for sectional meet

Jasper compiled 140 points on Saturday to claim the Class 1 boys’ district championship at Archie High School.

Rich Hill (86) and Appleton City (86) tied for second, host Archie (79) finished fourth and Liberal (71) took fifth to round out the top five.

Kansas City Lutheran (68) finished sixth, University Academy Charter (33) placed seventh, Humansville (31) turned in an eighth place finished, while Drexel and Greenfield (26) tied for ninth.

Other teams scoring were: Miami (20), Lockwood (6), Bronaugh (5), Chilhowee (4) and Wheatland (2).

Area sectional qualifiers include:

100 dash, Jordan Rjehm (Greenfield) 11.73; Brandon Hammond (Humansville), third, 12.09.

200 run, Jordan Rjehm (Greenfield) 23.48; Brandon Hammond (Humansville), third, 24.66.

1600 run, Josh Sipes (Greenfield), third, 5:13.05; Aaron Choate (Lockwood), fourth, 5:13.88.

3200 run, Derek York (Jasper), third, 11:58.94; Michael McDowell (Jasper), fourth, 12:07.95.

110 hurdles, Jeff Piepenbrink (Jasper), first, 17.09. Justin Albright (Humansville), fourth, 18.66.

300 hurdles, Jeff Piepenbrink (Jasper), first, 44.55; Justin Albright (Humansville), second, 46.95.

800 relay, third, Jasper 1:40.44.

1600 relay Jasper, fourth, 3:47.72.    

High jump, third, Jake Babcock 5-8;  Eric Tuck, fourth, (Jasper) 5-8.

Pole vault, Jeff Piepenbrink, first, (Jasper) 12-0.

Long jump, Isaac Tidball, second, (Jasper) 19-0.5.

Triple jump, Isaac Tidball (Jasper), first, 40-1.

Shot put, Raleigh Neher (Jasper), first, 45-10.75.

Discus, Raleigh Neher (Jasper), first, 138-9.

The Lady Eagles tallied 123 to crush Kansas City Lutheran, which finished second with 82 points.
 

Archie (79) finished third, Liberal (77) took fourth and Rich Hill (55) finished fifth.
Appleton City (54) took sixth,  Bronaugh (36) placed seventh, Thomas Jefferson (34) finished eighth,  Lockwood (28) placed ninth and Drexel (27) took 10th.

Other teams scoring were: Humansville (22), Greenfield (14), Miami (12) and Chilhowee (12), Wheatland (11) and University Academy Charter (2).
