Enayati qualifies for state golf tournament
On a very windy day for golf, Diamond’s Tim Enayati punched his ticket to the state championships.
The senior shot a 93 during the Class 2 District 7 golf tournament at Greene Hills Country Club in Willard Thursday afternoon.
Now he prepares for the Class 2 Championships held May 12-13 at Deer Lake Golf Course in Springfield.
Other state qualifiers included: Medalist Jordan Dickson of Ash Grove, who shot a 71; Ash Grove’s J.J. Brown (79), Mount Vernon’s Dakota Brown (82), Ash Grove’s Ryan Collins and Nolan Robertson (84), Warsaw's Clint Schwach (84) and Cody Hugunin (85), Mount Vernon's Weston Newell (89) and Jackson Tettenhorst (90), Fair Grove's Tyler Gerling (90) and Cameron Bruffet (91), Pierce City's Mike Sloan (90), El Dorado Springs' Jesse Coleman, Butler's Lee McLain (93) and Diamond's Tim Enyati (93).
The Ash Grove Pirates, the defending Class 2 champion, shot a 318 to win the team title. Mount Vernon finished second at 363.
