John D. Ford was born in St. Louis, Mo., on January 17, 1966 and he passed away in Springfield, Mo., on Aug. 9, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Zane B. Ford and his mother, Alberta Tate Ford.
John is survived by his sister, Mary Jo and Bobby Benge, and nephew, Thomas, St. Cloud, Fla.; aunts, Modine Martens and Bess Tate, Ark.; fiance, Shannon Street, Springfield, Mo.; family friends, Mike and Mary Hines, son Landon and godson Cooper, Springfield, Mo.; as well as many cherished friends.
He graduated from high school in Carthage, Mo., and college from Missouri Southern.
John was the former President of Sertoma and Southwest Center for Independent Living. He worked with many charities including Relay for Life, The American Cancer Society and Salvation Army. John was also the Senior Vice President of Lending in Banking.
John rolled four lifetimes into one and enriched the lives of everyone he knew with love and laughter.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 460 Aldersgate Dr., Nixa, Mo., 65714.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Shriner’s Hospital, or the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield in John’s name.
