John “Jack” Pickett Carter Jr., 75, of Carthage, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1932, in Jasper County and was the son of John Pickett Carter Sr., and Eula Cochran. Jack was a retired truck driver. He served in the United States Navy.
Jack is survived by his daughter Ashly Hanson and husband Mike Hanson, grandson Blake Hanson and step-grandson Matt Hanson of Leawood, Kan.
He is also survived by two sisters, Ann Simmons of Miami, Okla., Kay Carter and husband Jim Murphy of Honolulu, Hawaii.
He is preceded in death by father John Carter and mother Eula Cochran.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage.
Contributions may be made to Trinity Hospice in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
