Bill Kennedy Sr., 78, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Sept. 27, 2008, in Rogers, Ark.
Mr. Kennedy was born July 2, 1930, in Pawhuska, Okla., the son of Lemuel F. and Josephine Mullens Kennedy.
He was a welder for Hoyt Corporation and had worked for Carthage Marble in Carthage, Mo. Bill was a member of the Duenweg Assembly of God Church and graduated from the Duenweg High School in Duenweg, Mo. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Laura.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Smith Kennedy of the home. They were married June 4, 1954, in Carthage, Mo.
He is survived by his children, Billy J. Kennedy and wife Kathy of Rogers, Ark.; John Kennedy and wife Janet of Lowell, Ark.; Margaret Evans and husband Don of Avoca, Ark.; Jana Hollis and husband Steve of Rogers, Ark., and Tommy Kennedy and wife Pauletta of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Mary Robinson and husband Gene of Branson, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Benton County Funeral Home with burial with full Military Honors in the Little Flock Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St. Rogers, Ark., (downtown).
