Virginia I. Fansler, Carthage, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at her home.
Virginia was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Carthage, the daughter of William (Dan) Curry and Mildred (Harned) Curry. She attended Carthage Public Schools and was a graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1949. She married Carl “Skip” Fansler on May 26, 1949, in Carthage. He survives. Virginia worked in food preparation for the Carthage R-9 School District for 34 years and was a member of the First Christian Church, Carthage, where she and her husband were members of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class.
Additional survivors include two daughters Dixie Davis and her husband Jerry, Joplin, and Lynn Hayworth, Diamond; two grandsons, Justin and Cody Davis, Joplin; one brother, Keith Curry, Carthage and her beloved dog, Annie. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Daniel R. Hayworth and one brother, Vaughn Curry.
Visitation will be held from 6–7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
Memorial gifts are suggested to the Mr. & Mrs. Sunday School Class, the First Christian Church Hospital Equipment Fund or the Hospice-Compassus, Joplin.
