CARTHAGE, Mo. -

Harry Lewis Ford, 85, Carthage, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at his home in Carthage, Mo. 


Mr. Ford was born July 7, 1923, in Webb City, Mo., the son of Grover Lewis Ford and Blanche (Brown) Ford. He was a graduate of Carthage Senior High School and a member of Full Faith Church, Carthage. Mr. Ford was a Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Corps, side gunner, WWII, serving in Japan, China, Central Burma and India.  He married Evelyn Aldridge on May 16, 1943, in Trenton, N.J. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2004. 

Mr. Ford was a foreman for Hercules Powder, Co., retiring after 38 years of service.
Survivors include his son, Ron Ford and wife, Carmen, Carthage; granddaughter, Andrea Baldwin and husband, David, Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. 


Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. 

Memorial gifts are suggested to the Fairview Christian Church/Youth Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
