Marion A. “ Junior “ Bruffett, 82, of Jasper, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1927, in Barton County, Mo., to Marion A. Sr. and Frederica (Rapp) Bruffett.
Junior was a lifelong resident of the Jasper area. He was a retired Farmer and had worked at Big Smith Inc. at Carthage for a time. Junior was a U.S. Marine veteran and a member of the Grand Avenue Church of God in Carthage, Mo. He was a member of the NRA and a former board member of the Richland Township.
Junior was united in marriage to Wilma Duncan on Sept. 24, 1954, in the state of Mississippi. She survives.
Other survivors include, one son, Mark Bruffett of Golden City, Mo.; one daughter, Jane Adams and husband Jeff of Joplin, Mo.; three grandchildren, Eric Fast, Nathan Fast and Abby Taylor all of Jasper, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Grand Avenue Church of God, Carthage, Mo. Burial will be in Hackney Cemetery southeast of Jasper, Mo.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13, 2010, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
