Janice E. Musser, 68, of Joplin, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at her home after a battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Ponca City, Okla., to Charles Wright and Sindy (Webb) Wright. She attended Ponca City High School. She married and moved to Missouri in 1965 with her family.
Mrs. Musser was a homemaker for many years and then retired after 20 years from Leggett & Platt, Carthage. After retirement, she spent her time travelling with her husband, James Musser.
Survivors include children: Kelly (Irwin) Spencer and husband Scott, Carthage, and Craig Irwin and wife Lori of Joplin; daughter Janet Garman and husband Sonny; daughter Julie Hannon and husband Pete; and son Jerry Musser and wife Michelle.
Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Nicole Tommey, Beau Tommey, Clint Spencer, Holly Irwin, Cole Irwin and Morgan Irwin; two brothers, Don Wright and wife Betty, Ponca City, Okla., Larry Wright and wife Linda, Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Nell Miller and husband Bill, Ponca City, Okla.; and her mother, Sindy Wright, Ponca City, Okla. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wright.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage with Reverend Roger McKee officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
Memorial gifts are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House of Joplin in care of the funeral home.
