Funeral services for Roy J. Evans, Carthage, Mo., who passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at the BYKOTA Ministries Church, Carthage. Holli Roberts sang, “Lord I Lift Your Name on High,” “Open the Eyes of My Heart” and “I Will Rise.” Ronna Grimes, daughter, gave the opening prayer and read scripture. A video presentation of family photos followed. Rev. Darryl read the obituary. Dana Clevenger sang “No Longer Orphans.” Sharing of Memories was given by daughter, Regina Shank, personal friends, Gene Curry, Rick Fethers and Rick Gardner. Rev. Darryl Woolery gave the message and the closing prayer. Dana Clevenger sang “If You Only Knew.” Cindy Huntley played the Prelude and Postlude on the keyboard. Pallbearers were Kevin Grimes, David Grimes, Ben Grimes, Scott Shank, Ryan Shank, Joshua Carter and Eric Perry. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Mayfield, Shawn Meister and Michael Mayfield. Honorary Junior Pallbearers were Nathan Grimes, Alistair Grimes and Lucas Carter.
Graveside services were held in Park Cemetery, Carthage. Full military honors were presented by the Missouri Honor Guard Juliet Team, Joplin.
