Carl R. “Bob” Dick, 67, Carthage, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in the Landmark Hospital, Joplin, Mo. 

Bob Dick was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Carthage, the son of Carl C. Dick and Mary Gladyce (Hageman) Dick. Bob was a graduate of Carthage Senior High School, (Class of 1960), a member of the Army National Guard, 203rd Division, Carthage and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked at Allgeier Martin and Associates, Joplin, as a draftsman, then graduated from Stapp’s School of Cosmetology, Joplin. After graduation he opened Bob’s Place in Carthage, which he operated for over 30 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori Lapage, Joplin; a sister, Carolyn Cook, husband, Bill, Albuquerque, N.M.; a niece, Patricia Springborg, husband, Steven, Omaha, Neb., and a nephew, Tyler Cook, Albuquerque, N.M.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6–7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. 

Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Diabetes Association in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, Mo.
