John Edward Keener Jr. 86, of Jasper, passed away at 3:35, a.m., June 28, 2009, at McCune- Brooks Regional Medical Hospital.
He was born southeast of Jasper on April 27, 1923, to John Edward Keener, Sr. and Leta Byers.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannine “Brown” Keener.
He was previously married to Lila Rumford, with whom he had two children Charamaine and John Edward Keener III. He is also survived by his step-children, Richard Allan, Randa Lee and Sandra Lynn; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the 1st Baptist Church in Jasper.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the Boys Town, in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
