Lawrence Haubein, 86, formerly of Carthage, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Mo.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1921, in Lockwood, Mo., and was the son of the late Albert and Ida “Buente” Haubein. Lawrence was employed at Tapjac Lumber from 1948 until he retired in 1986 and he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Carthage.
In Aug. of 1948, Lawrence married Lorene Krueger in Leavenworth, Kan., she preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2008.
He is survived by two sons; Craig Haubein of Mt. Vernon and Bryan Haubein, of New York, one daughter; Gwen Campbell and husband Robert of Cleveland, Tenn., two grandchildren; Jason and Erin Campbell of Knoxville, Tenn., and one sister; Ethel Helmkamp of Freistatt, Mo.
Lawrence was preceded in death by two brothers; Arden Haubein and Wilbur Haubein.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Carthage with burial at Meinert Cemetery in Lockwood, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Mo.
Contributions may be given to the Faith Lutheran altar guild in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
