Terry Dayle Roberts, 76, Carthage, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Roberts was born on March 26, 1933, in Carthage, Mo., to Harry and Norine Roberts.  He attended Carthage Senior High School and graduated in 1951. He also received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri in 1956.  While at Mizzou, Terry was an All-Conference linebacker football player in 1953 and 1954. He was also active with his fraternity Beta Theta Pi.  Throughout his life, Terry enjoyed following Mizzou athletics and traveling. Terry always enjoyed playing the trumpet and for several years was active with the Carthage Community Band.

He is survived by his children, Bruce Gaynor, Modesto, Calif.,, Grace Roberts, San Francisco, Calif., and Scott (Barb) Roberts, Pittsburg, Kan., and four granddaughters. Also surviving are his brother, Walter David Roberts, Carthage, Mo., and his sister, Connie Kuchta, Deepwater, Mo., as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5– 6:45 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010, in the Knell Mortuary Chapel, with a memorial service following at 7 p.m.  A private family graveside service will be held Friday, March 19, 2010, in Park Cemetery, Carthage. 

Memorials may be given to the Terry Roberts Memorial Scholarship, University of Missouri in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, Mo., 64836.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
