Larry Franklin Sanders, 66, Carthage, Mo., passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, at his home after a short illness.
Larry was born Jan. 22, 1942, the son of Mark Sanders and Dora Mae (Thorn) Sanders.
He married Barbara K. Banels on August 3, 1962, she survives.
He worked for Big Smith Manufacturing, Carthage, for 12 years, ConAgra Corporation for 17 years and then Carthage Parks and Recreation until his illness. He was a member of Grace Pointe Assembly of God, Carthage.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; five sons: Larry L. Sanders and wife, Cindy, Harrisonville, Mo., Tim Sanders and wife, Teresa, Carthage, Chuck Sanders and wife, Terri, Carthage, Bobby Sanders and wife, Stephanie, Joplin, Mo., Phillip Sanders and wife, Tiffany, Saginaw, Mo.; one daughter, Rachel Stephens and husband, B.J., Mena, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Marvin Sanders and wife, Ila, Carthage, Ray Sanders and wife, Virginia, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Ethel Gonzales, Mesa, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Sanders, Robert (Bob) Sanders; two sisters, Jessie Handka and Betty Frantz.
Larry was a beloved husband, father and grandpa. He will live forever in or hearts and fondest memories.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., today, April 17, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Grace Pointe Assembly of God, Carthage. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery, southeast of Carthage.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Grace Pointe Assembly of God.
