Helen Joann Briant, 65, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at her home after a sudden illness.
Helen Joann Hendrix was born Jan. 20, 1945, in Sarcoxie, Mo., the daughter of James Hendrix and Bida (Harper) Hendrix. She married Clyde Ray Briant I on Nov. 27, 1967, in Sarcoxie. He survives. Mrs. Briant was a homemaker and attended the Sarcoxie First Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include four daughters: Rebecca (Allen) Franklin, Carthage, Vickie (David) Garrett, Carthage, Melinda Briant, Carthage and Pamela (Michael) Girdner, Carthage; two sons, Loy (Lana) Hendrix, Carthage, and Clyde Ray Briant II, Carthage; three sisters, Carolyn (Tony) Patrick, LaRussell, Mo., Nellie (Ted) Hall, Avilla, Mo., and Ellen (Everett) Borley, Arkansas City, Kan.; one brother, Bob Hendrix, Carthage; one sister-in-law, Loretta Hendrix, Carthage; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Hendrix.
Visitation will be held from 6–8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Private family services will be held at a later date.
