Jene Mathias, 76, a homemaker, passed away Sunday June 7, 2009, at 5:25 a.m. at the St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, Mo.
She was born June 10, 1932, in Houston, W.Va., the daughter of Alfred Johnson and Alpha (Cobb) Johnson. Her parents, 10 brothers and six sisters preceded her in death. Two step-children, Barbara Ann Evans, John Mathias and three husbands, Lee Strauss, Vernon Spess and Marion Mathias also preceded her in death. One step-son, Skip Mathias survives.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at the Park Cemetery, Carthage, Mo.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
