Terry L. Parker, 59, of Carthage, Mo., departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a brief illness.
Terry entered this life on Nov. 6, 1950, in Webb City, Mo., son of the late Calvin and Vergie (Pammel) Parker. He was a lifelong area resident of Jasper County.
On June 20, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Riddle and together they have shared the last 29 years.
He was employed for over 21 years at the Butterball plant in Carthage, retiring in 2001. He was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Terry is survived by his wife, Mary Parker, of the home; a daughter, Carmeletta and husband, Josh; two sons, Calvin and Michael Parker both of Carthage; two grandchildren, Michael Wayne Parker and Jolie Kah-Lynne Parker; two sisters; six brothers; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. 2010, at the Emmanuel Cemetery in rural Carthage.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday , Jan. 24, 2010, in the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Mo.
