Patricia Kay (Hoey) Elder, age 62, of Sedalia Mo., formerly of Carthage, Mo., passed away at 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Born March 4, 1947, in Carthage, she was the daughter of the late Russell G. Hoey and Neva M. Ralston Hoey and graduated from Carthage High School in 1965. She had lived in Sedalia the past eight years. A homemaker most of her life, she also volunteered for the U.S. Air Force Family Services at Whiteman Air Force Base for over 15 years. She was a Cub Scout Den Leader when her children were young.
She was a Christian.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicole Wheeler of Sedalia; her son, Anthony Elder of Sedalia; two sisters, Linda Bagley and husband Tony of Carthage and Frances Sprenger and husband William of Neosho; two grandchildren, Vanessa Wheeler and Justin Prescott; one great-granddaughter, Shyanne Prescott; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Parker Chapel with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. The family will receive friends at the mortuary following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the mortuary.
