Darrel Max Shelton, rural Carthage, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, July 14, 2010, at Freeman Hospital. Darrel was born on July 3, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas to Glen and Ardis Shelton.
Darrel was a 1970 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. He moved to Wichita soon after graduation where he resided until moving to Carthage in 2006. Darrel was a truck driver.
Darrel is survived by his life companion, Patricia Hull of the home, a son, Tim Shelton, state of Kansas, his brother Howard Shelton (Marsha) of Wichita, Kansas, a sister, Glenda (Jim) Irwin of Carthage, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a host of friends.
Darrel was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Glen and Ardis Shelton.
Darrel was a member of the United Methodist Church of Avilla.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 19, at the Avilla Cemetery. David Cook will be officiating.

Services are under the direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
