Mary Alice Hadley, age 90, longtime resident of Carthage more recently of Lee’s Summit, Mo, passed away early Monday morning May 21, 2018 at her home.

Mary Alice Hadley, age 90, longtime resident of Carthage more recently of Lee’s Summit, Mo, passed away early Monday morning May 21, 2018 at her home. She was born on January 17, 1928 in Powell, Mo, the daughter of Hugh Hamilton Dabbs and Blanche Sappington Dabbs. Mary Alice was a graduate of Neosho High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. She married Jack Hadley on June 24, 1950 in Neosho, Mo. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2006 after 56 years of marriage. Mary Alice was a devoted wife and mother and a teacher. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include three sons, Phillip Hadley (Donita), Belton, Mo, Mark Hadley, Kansas City, MO, and Scott Hadley Olathe, Ks, a daughter, Melinda Smith (Phillip), of Kansas City, Mo; nine grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. James Lee at 12:00 pm Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Park Cemetery, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
