Timothy Lee Owen, 64, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Tim was born to James and Dorothy Owen (who both preceded him in death) on January 10, 1953. He grew up in Carthage, MO, but spent his adult life in the Johnson County and Leavenworth, KS area.

Tim also proudly served in the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Owen Heinisch (Michael) and three grandchildren, Austin, Lucy and Abigail Heinisch whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his girlfriend of 20+ years, Janet Seber. Tim is also survived by his brother Jim Owen (Betty), two nephews Evan and Jared Owen and their families. Tim would say we were remiss if we didn’t mention his beloved dog, Otis as well.

Tim had a long career and retired from Water One in 2009, after which he enjoyed retirement with Janet and his family. Tim loved collectables and spent time searching the countryside for unique, funny and forgotten trinkets, treasures and collectable items. He truly enjoyed his home in the country where it was quiet and peaceful.

Tim overcame many obstacles in his life, both physical and personal and he was admired and respected for his perseverance and tenacity. He was loved by many. He was a funny and gentle soul with a friendly and selfless outlook on life.

Even while fighting cancer he lived life to the fullest, just recently returning from a two-week trip to the southwest part of the country. Tim was taken too soon from us, but he will live in our hearts and minds until we see him again.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. with burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be left on Tim’s online guestbook at www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com
