Wilbur James “Jim” Mobley, 80, passed away May 5, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Jim was born November 6, 1936 in Topeka, Kansas to Wilbur and Darlene “Linder” Mobley. Jim served in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict and was a Green Beret. Jim loved baseball and was a scorekeeper. He was a member of the Three Point Full Gospel Church. He loved his church family and children.
Jim was united in marriage to Martha Bowlin January 22, 1972 in Topeka, Kansas; she survives.
Jim is survived by one brother Ron Mobley and one sister Diana Mobley and two half-brothers Jerry Applehans and Richard Applehans. Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fasken Cemetery.
