William H. Neubert, 78, Carthage, passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.
William H. Neubert was born Sept. 23, 1938 in Carthage; a son of the late Ernest C. Neubert and Viola Hutchinson Neubert.
Bill was a graduate of Carthage Senior High, Class of 1956 and received his degree in Electrical Engineering for the University of Arkansas.
He married Ruth Mann in 1959 and they moved to Springfield, Mo., where he went to work for Litton. They transferred to Granada Hills, Calif., where they raised their two sons, Steven William and Rodney Brian.
Bill later moved to San Jose, Calif., where he taught at San Jose College while earning his master’s degree in Computer Science. He and his second wife, Joyce, started Technocrat Enterprises, programming and installing multiuser systems for many businesses. He later began a computer consulting career that took him back and forth across the country, making lifelong friends in Memphis, Tenn., and Boco Roton, Fla. As that career began to wind down, Bill decided he really wanted to return to Carthage, he enjoyed semi-retirement. He became a Master Gardener, joined the 4-State Photography Enthusiasts, served on the Maple Leaf Planning Committee and loved his own gourmet cooking, sharing many recipes on Facebook.  He also thoroughly enjoyed learning the real estate business and his time with Smith Midwest.
Bill is survived by his son, Steve Neubert, Acton, Calif; grandchildren, Krista, Brian and Aiden; one sister, Mary Barksdale, Carthage; seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Brian Neubert; older brother, Ernest Neubert, Jr., and two older sisters, Nancy Howerton and Kay Locarni.
