Donna May Chapman, 65, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following a courageous battle with cancer.

Donna May Chapman, 65, of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following a courageous battle with cancer.  Donna was born on Jan. 5, 1952 in Carthage.  
She was the daughter of Marion and Adelene (Long) Fuget.  She first married Vincent E. Ashworth, with one child being born to this union.  
She later married the true love of her life, Jerry L. Chapman Sr. on March 11, 1972 in Carthage.
Donna attended Carthage High School.  Following her marriage to Jerry, who was enlisted in the United States Air Force, they traveled to many parts of the world, eventually making their home in Jasper.  
Donna worked at Con-Agra Turkey Plant, St. Luke’s Nursing Home, Truman Health Care, PAR in Jasper and retired from the Carthage Wal-Mart in 2014, following 17 years of service.  She was a member of the Carthage American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed fishing, camping and bowling.  Her greatest achievement in life was her family.  She was extremely proud of her children, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her world.
Donna is survived by her husband, Jerry, of nearly 45 years, her three children: Vincent DeWayne (Kathy) Ashworth of Sheldon, Jerry Lynn (Sarah) Chapman, Jr. of Carthage and Shauna Renee Chapman (Shae) Walker of Bentonville, Ark. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Chasity Ashworth, Jonathan Ashworth, Kelsey Westerhold, Justin Hancock, Ayden Chapman, Tara Chapman, Tiffany Alvares and Samantha Walker, two great-grandchildren: Aubrey Chapman and Gabby Newman, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and a large extended family.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Dora Lee Poindexter, and two brothers, Jim Fuget and Richard Fuget.
Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2107 at Ulmer Funeral Home.  Graveside service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Cemetery, Rescue, Missouri.
