Two killed in Joplin traffic crash

Two men were killed and one man was hurt in a single vehicle crash on west 32nd Street in Joplin early Friday morning.

Joplin police said driver Ryan Parker, 35, and passenger David Sage, 40, both of Joplin were killed in the crash that happened at 2:04 a.m. Friday on west 32nd Street and Ashwood Road, west of Black Cat Road in southwest Joplin.

Passenger Richard Tibbets, 34, Joplin, survived the crash and was taken by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Joplin police said the 2004 Infinity was traveling west on 32nd Street at the time of the crash.

Tibbets was wearing his seatbelt while the other two were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the car in the crash. Parker and Sage were declared dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Joplin Police Department traffic unit.
