BREAKING NEWS: Death of infant Eddie Salazar Jr. ruled homicide

Preliminary results were received from the Boone County Medical Examiners office on Tuesday, Feb. 16, concerning the autopsy of Eddie Salazar Jr.

While the cause of death is not being released, the manner of death was ruled as a homicide.  

Today the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed a one count complaint for the charge of Murder in the Second Degree against Eddie A. Salazar, father of the child, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, Associate Division in Joplin.

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
 
The investigation into this case will continue; however, no further charges are anticipated.
 
The next step in the legal process will be the arraignment in Division 5 before Honorable Richard Copeland.
