Carthage police say Eddie Salazar Sr., 28, the father of the missing eight-month-old baby who was found dead on Saturday in the Spring River, is the prime suspect in his son’s death.

Officials have recovered the body of a baby from the Spring River, east of Carthage. Jasper County Sheriff. Archie Dunn made the announcement at 3:30 p.m. to members of the media, camped out at a bridge over the Spring River on County Road 85.

Eddie Salazar Sr., the father of missing eight-month-old, Eddie Alegandro Salazar Jr., has been arrested by the Carthage Police Department for filing a false police report.
