Two Carthage residents were hurt when the motorcycle they were riding collided head on with a pickup truck at 8:35 p.m. Monday south of Carthage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Daniel L. Cupp, 55, and Deborah Cupp, 54, both of Carthage, were taken by ambulance to McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage after the accident on County Road 130, two miles south of Carthage.

The patrol said the driver of the pickup, John S. Taylor, Carthage, was not injured.

The patrol said Taylor failed to drive on his side of the road and hit the Cupps' motorcycle as the two vehicles met at the crest of a hill.

The injuries to the Cupps were listed as moderate by the patrol.
