The United Way Day of Caring will take place Friday, May 16, and begin at the Whitney House at the Precious Moments Lake at 7 a.m. where breakfast will be served before traveling to the different agencies.
This event is a day that community volunteers help non-profit agencies with needed tasks and physical needs.
Christina Patton, executive director of the Carthage area United Way, said the community volunteers have really stepped up this year, and she is expecting many of them to show up.
“We are looking forward to having a great turn out,” she said. “It is truly a wonderful day to help all of our non-profit agencies with physical tasks and needs.”
Agencies to help include the Ozark Boy Scout Camp, the Family Literacy Center, the American Red Cross, the Girl Scout Camp, the Salvation Army, Cerebral Palsy of Tri-County, Crosslines, the Lafayette House and the Crisis Center.
Carthage Water and Electric, SMB, Precious Moments, Arvest, UMB, Schreiber, Leggett and Platt, Family Video, Pizza Hut and Encore Spalon sponsor the event.
To RSVP, volunteers can call the United Way Office at 358-2948 or email Unitedway@ecarthage.com.
