CARTHAGE, Mo. -

Lynda P. Rush of Sheldon, Mo., was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Mo, after receiving moderate injuries in a crash Monday morning.

Rush was heading southbound on U.S. Hwy 71, one-half mile north of Carthage, when a vehicle sideswiped her truck, pushing her into a guardrail, causing her to overturn in the median.

A truck driver who witnessed the accident said it was unbelievable.

“Everything seemed like it was in slow motion as the truck rolled over,” said the witness.

According to the witness, the driver who sideswiped the Rush vehicle left the scene after stopping to ask if Rush was O.K.

Emergency crews from the Carthage Fire Department and McCune-Brooks Regional Hospital were on the scene, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Carthage Police Department.

Anyone with information about the vehicle that left the scene of the accident should contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
