Carthage police are investigating a claim that someone sodomized a 10-year-old Carthage girl sometime earlier this year.
In a written release, police said they were notified on Oct. 27 of a case that took place in the northeast part of town where the victim was sodomized sometime between April 1 and Oct. 1, 2009.
The victim, a 10-year-old Carthage girl, was not physically injured in the incident.
Police said the victim has identified the suspect and the investigation continues.
