CARTHAGE, Mo. -

Friday, Oct. 2

• At 3:11 p.m., Whitney M. Jones, of Baxter Springs, Kan., was arrested on a Carterville failure to appear warrant for improper vehicle registration, failure to appear warrant out of Stone County, no proof of insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was held at the Jasper County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.

• At 11:26 p.m., Curtis Owen, 28, of Carthage, was arrested on a driving while intoxicated at the 800 block of E 5th Street.

Monday, Oct. 5

• At 8:28 p.m., a 16-year-old was taken into custody as a runway.

Tuesday, Oct. 6

• Patrick Church, 22, of Carterville, was arrested for a parole violation warrant; he was transported and turned over to Jasper County Jail authorities.

Saturday, Oct. 10

• Lorna Kraeger, of Carthage, reported to CPD about phone harassment, and the investigation continues. 

Sunday, Oct. 11

• At 8:42 p.m., Randy L. Hill, 43, of Stotts City, was arrested at 800 W. Central for a Newton County warrant along with a Barry County warrant.

Monday, Oct. 12

• At 6:34 p.m., Chasity R. Vaughn, 23 of Webb City, was arrested near Cedar Street on a Carthage failure to appear warrant and driving while suspended.

• At 9:37 p.m., Trevor E. Strickland, 17, of Joplin, was arrested at 1027 W. Mound for driving under the influence and possession.

Thursday, Oct. 15

• At 7:08 a.m., employees with Hillbilly Pumping and Hauling out of Joplin reported a theft of grease in progress at 112 W. George Phelps Blvd. Suspects were quickly located and stopped on Fir Road near Hazel Street. David A. Fleming, of Carterville, and Buddy J. Buzzard, of Webb City, were both arrested for stealing. A former misdemeanor charge of stealing was filed against both suspects and they were released into custody of deputies at the Jasper County Jail on a $2,500 bond. Buzzard was also charged with a speeding warrant out of Pulaski County while Fleming was also charged for driving while suspended and no proof of insurance.

Saturday, Oct. 17

• CPD officers responded to the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot at 1111 W. Central in reference to an assault.

Sunday, Oct. 18

• At 11:53 p.m., at 700 Water St., a suicidal suspect was taken into custody and transported to St. John’s for a 96-hour mental health evaluation.

Monday, Oct. 19

• A burglary report was filed at 1209 Oak Street, and the investigation continues.

• At 2:49 p.m., Carlos Lopez Juarez, 24, of Carthage was arrested at the 600 block on S. River for DUI, no operator’s license and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway, and transported to CPD, he posted bond and released.
