Prosecutors are considering charges against the driver of a wrecker that was parked without lights on a southwest Missouri road when a car hit it, killing a teenager.

 The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the Saturday night crash just north of Joplin killed 18-year-old Jodie Wharf of Republic. Wharf had been riding with her Republic High School friend Tesslah Lee at 8:30 p.m. on a two-lane county road which is unlit.
   

Trooper Brandon Helms said the car Lee was driving slammed into a semi tractor with a flat trailer loaded with trusses. The truck was parked with no lights or reflectors.
   

The trusses broke loose when the car struck the rear of the trailer.
   

Helms said the wrecker driver was off the roadway loading salvage vehicles onto another trailer at the time.
   

Lee was not seriously hurt.
