The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Precious Moments Angel Tree Toppers due to a fire hazard.
The ornamental angels that light up have insufficient wiring and could pose a fire hazard, the commission said in a statement.
About 4,300 ornaments were imported from China by Precious Moments Inc., of Carthage, Mo., and sold nationwide from August 2009 through December 2009 for about $18.
The ornaments are 10 inch tall vinyl angels with LED lighted wings. The angels are white, gold and yellow and they are holding either a star or a set of bells.
Precious Moments has received two reported incidents involving the tree topper overheating. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the tree toppers and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
