Residents and businesses in the northwest part of Carthage lost power for about 10 minutes Monday afternoon when some equipment damaged in a recent storm failed.
Susan Wendleton, spokeswoman for Carthage Water and Electric Plant, said a lightning arrester and
an insulator failed on a feeder line, causing the outage at about 1:20 p.m. Monday.
Wendleton said both the arrester and insulator had been damaged in one of the recent thunderstorms that had passed through the area.
Wendleton said the parts were fixed and power was restored in about 10 minutes.
