A Carthage girl is competing and seeking sponsors to become the next Miss Missouri Princess at a pageant in Columbia next month.
Payton Hazel Hershey, 7, the daughter of Samanza Smart and Jason Hershey, has qualified and will compete in the Miss Missouri Princess pageant which will be held on Saturday, June 23 in Columbia.
The National American Miss pageants, the sponsors of this pageant, say the newly crown Miss Missouri Princess will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and transportation to the national pageant in Disneyland in California. She will also tour Hollywood and will represent Missouri at different events all year.
Contestants will compete in four overall categories, formal wear modeling, personal introduction, interviews, and community service projects. National American Miss pageants also offers optional contests, such as the Top Model Search, Talent and Actress and so much more.
Hershey's activities include cheerleading and reading to younger children. She also enjoys reading, playing outside and spending time with her family.
She has no sponsors at this point, so the family is working to come up with the sponsor fee.
Anyone interested in sponsoring Hershey can call her mother, Samanza Smart, at 417-483-5872.
