Independence Police continue to investigate a pair of shootings that occurred Sunday evening and Tuesday morning, respectively.
The first occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday at the 12300 block of East 51st Street in southwest Independence. According to police, a male victim said he was robbed in the driveway of his residence by two suspects and then shot. At last report, the victim was in stable condition.
The second shooting occurred at the 10000 block of East Wilson Road, just north of U.S. 24 in western Independence. Police responded to an aggravated assault call at 10:40 a.m., and learned a man had shot multiple times into a car parked at a tow lot, though the female victim in the car was not injured. The suspect was taken into custody, with possible charges pending.
