Jasper may have lost a football game Friday night when they fell to Miller 69-0, but Head Coach Josh Dirks had more important things on his mind after the game.

The Eagles might also have lost their team leader and rushing leader, junior running back and linebacker Jordan Adams, for the season.

Adams was hurt late in the second quarter after two of his best runs of an otherwise tough game.

He was hit on the Eagles’ sideline and may have broken his wrist, according to Dirks.

“We’ll wait and see what happens,” Dirks said. “You hate to think about that kind of possibility but we’ll keep our heads up and keep praying for him.”

It was a tough blow to a young Jasper team that was already facing a shelling from one of the best Class 1 teams in Southwest Missouri.

Miller, 5-1, scored at will and in a variety of ways throughout the game.

The only thing that didn’t go Miller’s way was one extra point on their way to a 55-0 halftime lead.

“You just try to go in and take care of your end,” said Miller head coach Dustin Baldwin. “I think everyone would rather have a competitive game but they have some good young kids. They are playing a lot of young kids so they’re going to get better.”
